Keep Your DEUS Products in Top Condition
DEUS Vertical Rescue Systems and rescue accessories are designed, built and warranted for long life. Proper care and maintenance is important for keeping your equipment working longer and stronger. Regular inspections can help ensure you address problems before they become serious, or retire gear when needed. Plus all DEUS Vertical Rescue Systems should undergo factory inspection and overhaul every three years.
DEUS Rescue can help. Our engineers are available to answer questions and guide you in the proper care, upkeep and servicing of your equipment.
Contact us with your technical questions, or for more information about servicing.
What to do if your DEUS System is used in an emergency
If your DEUS Vertical Rescue System is ever used in a real emergency, pull it from service. Replace the rope and inspect the device, as follows:
- Check the rope-guide surfaces for burs and nicks.
- Check that the control knob turns freely between “stop” and “go.”
- Check that the rear cover plate opens and closes freely.
- Check that the slide-cam moves back and forth freely.
- Turn the control knob to the “go” position and check that the brake wheel spins freely.
- Turn the control knob to the “stop&rdrquo; position and check that the brake wheel does not spin at all.
Remember to do this after every descent. If anything about the device does not look right or does not work correctly, contact DEUS Rescue immediately for service and place the unit in “inactive” status until it has been rectified.
If your DEUS device helps save a life, let us know
If your DEUS Vertical Rescue System was used in a documented life-saving emergency, contact us. If you are willing to help us promote your story and testimonial, we will provide factory maintenance for that device at no cost, and provide you with a loaner device to use in the meantime. We will need you to provide a complete description of how the DEUS system helped, with photos and a signed release form, along with the “life-saved” unit.
If we can return the original unit to “good as new” condition, we will send it back to you so you can return the loaner to us. If we cannot return the device to “good as new” condition, you keep the loaner. DEUS Rescue will pay all the shipping. Contact us for more information.
