Caring for DEUS Training Rope
DEUS Training Rope is designed for multiple
uses in non-emergency situations. This means
the rope is not designed to withstand insults
like heat, fire, smoke, chemicals, sharp
edges, heavy weights and shock loads. DO
NOT use DEUS Training Rope in
emergency situations.
DEUS Training Rope is designed
for about 20 non-emergency descents. Maintain a
rope log to track use. After 20 descents,
or before if the rope shows significant wear,
cut the rope into one foot lengths and discard.
To ensure your safety, inspect your rope
after every descent. Look for cut or worn
sheath on the outside of the rope and squeeze
the rope between your fingers to discover
breaks in the core of the rope. Pay particular
attention to the sewn eyes and look for cut
or broken stitches and rope fibers. If the
rope has been subjected to insults like heat,
fire, smoke, chemicals, sharp edges, heavy
weights or shock loads, cut it up and retire
the rope immediately.
Do not trust your life - or the lives of
others - to training rope that you have not
personally inspected for wear. |
