Controlled Descent

Multiple Ways to Control Your Descent Speed.

Multiple Ways to Control Your Descent Speed.DEUS Vertical Rescue Systems are designed for controlled descent. Descent can be controlled by the user, adjusting speed with the control knob or with the free end of the rope. Descent can also be completed entirely hands free, as the system automatically limits descent to a safe speed.

Hands Free

For users who require the use of their hands for other work, or where their hands are disabled, DEUS Vertical Rescue Systems can support safe descent entirely hands free. Simply pre-rig your system set to the “go” position. When you are ready to descent, set an anchor and go. The multiple brakes inside the DEUS system will control descent and guard against free fall.

Speed Adjustment using the Control Knob

Descent speed using the DEUS system can be easily modified using the control knob on the front of the device. Control knobs require just two-finger turns, and are easy to use even with heavy or wet gloves. Speed control is infinitely variable from complete stop to the maximum descent speed of the system.

Speed Adjustment using Manual Control of the Rope

When descending with a DEUS Vertical Rescue System, the free end of the rope can be used to control descent speed. Users should keep one hand on the tailing rope at all times, and simply pull on the rope to slow or stop descent.
